‘Shame On You’: Suchitra Krishnamoorthi SLAMS Netizen Defending Siya Goyal, Says ‘No Culture Can Justify Criminal Behaviour’

Actress and singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthi has strongly reacted to a social media user who attempted to defend Siya Goyal amid the ongoing investigation into the death of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal. Slamming the argument, Suchitra said that cultural differences or claims of forced marriage cannot be used to justify alleged criminal behaviour.

The controversy erupted after a user on X suggested that Siya might not have married Ketan if she had been living in countries like the United States or Europe. The user argued that she could have lived with her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, and would not have faced pressure to marry Ketan.

Reacting sharply to the post, Suchitra criticised the user and others who appeared to defend Siya’s alleged actions.

“No culture can justify criminal behaviour. Shame on you and everyone who is trying to justify such criminal behavior,” Suchitra wrote.

The actress further argued that if Siya did not want to marry Ketan, she had several other options available to her. She could have left home, eloped with the person she wanted to be with, or sought legal help if her family was allegedly forcing her into marriage against her wishes.

Suchitra went on to condemn the alleged act of planning Ketan’s death, calling such behaviour the “mind of a psychopath.”

The case came to light after Ketan Agarwal died during a trek at Lohagad Fort on June 18. Initially, his death was believed to be the result of an accidental fall. However, the investigation reportedly took a dramatic turn after police allegedly uncovered evidence suggesting that Ketan’s death may have been part of a planned conspiracy.

According to investigators, Ketan’s fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, are accused of being involved in the alleged conspiracy surrounding his death.

Both Siya and Chetan have been arrested by the police in connection with the case and sent to judicial custody. The investigation remains underway, and the allegations against the accused are yet to be proven in court.

Meanwhile, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi’s strong reaction has added to the growing public discussion surrounding the case, with the actress making it clear that personal circumstances, cultural differences or family pressure cannot be used to defend alleged criminal actions.
